Hello All,

To get this out to you right away and because Concetta has been non-stop on the phone, she has asked me to send this email out to let everyone know about the decision to postpone the Convention until sometime in October,  of course not to conflict with the Western Gala.
The situation in Charlotte is very unfortunate,  however not as bad as the media is portraying.  Our hotel is not in Center City, it’s about 6 or more city blocks away from the location of the incidents last night.  That being said, with the uncertainty of what might play out here and having the safety of DWNC Members and Guests as the first priority, the decision was made to postpone.
We are working with the hotel to determine dates for rescheduling.  The hotel reservations will be automatically cancelled today and no charges from the hotel placed on your credit cards.  The arrangements with the hotel will remain the same, with only the dates changing.  Members and others will be required to re-register for the hotel once the dates have been set.  The rates will remain the same.
We will also be sending a communication out to all Registrants shortly,  so those of you who are registered will receive this information again. Additionally for the Registrants, we will leave everything the same with your Registration and Events at this moment.  You will receive another communication after the dates have been determined.
The Host Committee, the Democratic Women of Mecklenburg County, is ready and looking forward to welcoming you to the Queen City and hosting a great Convention!
Region Directors,  please make sure Chapter Presidents are aware of this postponement.  A number of Chapter Presidents don’t have email,  but I’m sure you know how to contact them.
